LOVE--A Calculated Risk

Love makes you vulnerable, and love makes you powerful.
Love is breathing in a baby.
Love is digging the poop out from underneath your fingernails when you change his diapers.
Love is promising your grandmother on her deathbed that you will fill her shoes when she goes.
Love puts you on your knees in prayer when your middle school student is sabotaging her life just as fast as she can.
Love is not beating the liver out of your dog when she eats your favorite shoes.
And a sprinkler system.
And the Internet cables.
Twice.
And one of your husband’s fly rods.
Love is reminding yourself that you will probably have another 40 years to hack out your crap with that husband of yours so you decide to just be patient…
…and then your heart drops through the floor because 40 years isn’t nearly long enough to be with him.
Love is hoping your LDS brothers and sisters are right about family being forever for all time and eternity.
Love is being grateful to your Creator for a thousand funny things.
But I can only speak for myself on this…
...how about you?
